The NZ Business Excellence Foundations mission is “To enable NZ organizations to achieve World Class performance and results through the deployment of a World Class organizational improvement framework”
 
The Foundation works to stimulate and support business excellence in New Zealand by developing awareness and understanding of organisational excellence and by supporting and facilitating businesses on their journey towards excellence. This is accomplished by the use of a “Best Practice” framework and the provision of a range of tailored services to members.

The framework used by the New Zealand Business Excellence Foundation is the internationally recognized and respected framework known as the “Criteria for Performance Excellence” (The US Baldrige Framework). The Criteria is not a stand alone model rather it promotes the integration of various business improvement models. Many NZ organizations are using the criteria in conjunction with ISO, Six Sigma and Balanced Scorecards.

New Zealand businesses adopt the Criteria specifically as a model for managing and aligning their business improvement activities, and also for assessing themselves against the World Class framework in order to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.
